SANDO

This project was created for an exam where a team of two Game Design students had to make a "Wholesome Game."

We wanted to design a calming 2D experience that players can enjoy to relax and unwind after a long, stressful day at work.

GAME OVERVIEW

Sando is a relaxing 2D game focused on a wholesome and peaceful atmosphere. We had to manage our time carefully to balance this project with our other schoolwork.

During development, we received a lot of feedback from our teachers. I had to learn how to filter these ideas to make sure we could finish a polished game on time without over-scoping.


MY WORK

  • Programming: I stepped out of my comfort zone to handle all the coding.

  • Level Design: Created the relaxing environments.

  • UI Design: Designed a clean and simple User Interface.

  • Asset Integration: Selected and implemented 2D assets found online.

REFLECTION

Creating Sando was a great challenge because we did not have a dedicated programmer on our team. Learning to code the game myself taught me a lot about technical constraints. It also helped me understand how to better manage the scope of a project to ensure we deliver a finished product on time.
